SISSA to host the young mathematicians’ conference on model order reduction
It will be an opportunity to showcase their applications in the research carried out within Spoke 9
Trieste, 28th April 2025
From 5th to 9th May, 2025, Trieste’s SISSA will host the upcoming edition of the Young Mathematicians in Model Order Reduction Conference (YMMOR), sponsored by iNEST. This international event will bring together researchers from across Europe who study and develop model order reduction (MOR) techniques—mathematical tools that streamline complex models while preserving their accuracy, dramatically speeding up simulations.
The conference is part of the activities promoted by Spoke 9, where MOR plays a crucial role in the development of Digital Twins. In this context, YMMOR stands out as a strategic event within iNEST Cross-Cutting Activity 4, serving as a forum for knowledge exchange, scientific updates, and community building among researchers in this field. It also offers a valuable entry point for those interested in exploring a rapidly growing technological frontier that is increasingly central to industrial innovation and advanced digitalization.
The program will include, among other highlights, an introductory session on MOR methods—also providing an overview of their applications in the research carried out within Spoke 9—and a tutorial on the PINA library, an advanced computational tool that integrates artificial intelligence and mathematics to tackle industrial challenges.
YMMOR 2025 will not only be an opportunity for academic growth but also a bridge for iNEST to connect with other European communities, particularly in Germany, which has long been at the forefront of innovation and technology transfer.
