iNEST Spoke 9 organizes the International Workshop on Digital Twins
It will take place from 19th to 21st February in Padua and will include 8 keynote speeches from international guests and a round table on research ecosystems
Padua, 17th February 2025
The workshop “International Workshop on Digital Twins: Mathematical Analysis, Formal Methods and Scientific Machine Learning” will be held at the Scuola della Carità in Padua from 19th to 21st February. Organized by the University of Padua as an initiative of iNEST Spoke 9, the workshop aims to bring together experts—both Italian and international—in the fields of Digital Twins and their applications.
The workshop is organized by Mattia Fogagnolo and Matteo Zavatteri, both researchers at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Padua and recipients of a Young Researcher Grant, with the support of a Scientific Committee. The event will focus on machine learning and cyber-physical systems, which integrate physical and computational components that interact in real-time; Digital Twins can play a critical role within them. These topics will be explored from a mathematical and computer science perspective.
On Wednesday and Thursday, eight internationally renowned experts in machine learning and Digital Twins will deliver keynote speeches: Alessandro Abate (University of Oxford), Martin Burger (University of Hamburg), Luca Dedè (Politecnico di Milano), Barbara Hammer (University of Biefeled), Mauro Maggioni (Johns Hopkins University), Michel Reniers (University of Eindhoven), Carola-Bibiane Schönlieb (University of Cambridge), and Stefano Tonetta (Fondazione Bruno Kessler). These talks will be interspersed with numerous five-minute presentations and poster sessions, offering researchers from Spoke 9 and beyond the opportunity to present and discuss their findings.
Friday will be entirely dedicated to iNEST, featuring presentations on the results of Spoke 9 Research Topics, which will be explored further in afternoon scientific sessions. A key highlight will be a round table at 11 a.m. on the role and function of interconnected research ecosystems, featuring Prof. Franco Bonollo (Head of the iNEST Consortium), Prof. Angelo Montanari (Head of the iNEST Scientific Committee), Eng. Luca Fabbri (General Director of the Consortium), as well as representatives from companies such as Almaviva Bluebit and Collins Aerospace.
