Trieste, 16th February 2024
The iNEST Consortium is one of the key sponsors of the prestigious international conference SIAM UQ24, to be held in Trieste from 27th February to 1st March 2024. The conference represents an important platform to bring together applied mathematics experts from around the world and industries from the North-Eastern region of Italy, with a particular focus on Uncertainty Quantification.
SIAM, the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, is the organizing body behind this conference, in cooperation with the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (GAMM). As the largest international organization dedicated to applied mathematics, SIAM brings together over 14,000 mathematicians from various fields. SIAM UQ24 is one of its flagship events, attracting more than 1,000 participants from across the globe, and will serve as a vital forum for the exchange of ideas and collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders in the field of Uncertainty Quantification. The conference will offer a comprehensive program comprising over 250 sessions, including panels, workshops, and mini-symposia. Notable industry participants include companies and consortia such as Danieli, Electrolux, Fincantieri, and SMACT, among others, representing the diverse sectors engaging with applied mathematics at the conference.
Through SIAM UQ24, iNEST actively contributes to fostering innovation and technological development in the Northeastern region of Italy. In particular, on Wednesday 28th February 2024, at 5:00 p.m., a special session dedicated to iNEST as a mini-symposium will be held at the Saturnia-Vulcania room of the Trieste Passenger Terminal. This session, as part of Cross-Cutting Activity 3, aims to engage the applied mathematics community, including physicists, engineers, computer scientists, and data scientists, providing a unique opportunity for discussion and sharing of best practices in innovation and research.
